The stands may be empty and the stadiums quiet, but one thing that you can guarantee is that football can always deliver support from within when it’s needed the most.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle report that their virtual ticketing initiative has been a unanimous success across the board and at time of writing over 7753 virtual tickets have been sold which now equals an all time record for the club. In a show of solidarity across the football divide, ICTFC and Hearts fans alongside the wider football community in both Scotland and England have come together in a time when fans can’t access live sport, to help push the initiative and support not just their club but football as a whole.

Scott Gardiner, ICTFC CEO, comments, “It has been a remarkable feat of support and philanthropy from a set of fans who through the Foundation of Hearts, have led the way in Scotland on that front and it has been way beyond our hopes for this fundraising initiative. So for all of you who have joined in with this amazing effort thank you once again and for those who still may join us, it is clear now that you will be part of something quite remarkable.”

Chris Gratton, Ticketmaster Sport COO, adds, “There’s no doubt we all miss going to matches and it’s occasions like these that remind us of the true beauty of the sport and just how supportive the football community can be. We’re delighted to have played our part in supporting our clients to achieve this incredible milestone and look forward to a time when we can get fans back into stadiums once more.”

Congratulations to all teams on this achievement so far and we wish both our clients Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Heart of Midlothian the best of luck for their match on 26 February.
