Ticketmaster is proud to announce its new role as official ticketing partner of the HSBC World Series tournament, one of South Africa’s biggest sporting event of the year, that will be hosted in Cape Town from December 9-11, 2022.
The tournament will consist of 16 men’s and 12 women’s international teams of the highest level, playing group stages to then have top teams progress to a quater final knockout draw.
In a first for the HSBC Cape Town Sevens, all tickets will be distributed 100% digitally via mobile. With the benefit of being paperless, Ticketmaster’s solution will also reduce the risk of fraud with the inclusion of a special encryption to each digital ticket, meaning that only legitimate ticket owners who have downloaded the official Ticketmaster application on their phone will be able to gain entry to the event.
For the last edition of the tournament, held in 2019, audience records were set with almost 120,000 fans attending the games at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium over the weekend. Visit our website for more information on Ticketmaster technology.
