Ticketmaster are pleased to confirm that Hibernian FC have confirmed an extension to their contract with Ticketmaster.
With this announcement, supporters will experience a number of new improvements to the ticket offering moving forward, including:
- Digital tickets for matchday and season tickets
- New scanners across every turnstile at Easter Road
- Improvements to the purchasing experience for high demand games, including an online queue management system integrated with the ticketing site
- Enhanced seating map including ‘view from seat’ images
Hibernian FC Chief Executive Leeann Dempster commented: “We are delighted to be continuing the partnership with Ticketmaster. Our ticketing operation is one of the most important functions at the club – from a supporter’s perspective and our own we need it to operate as smoothly as possible. Ticketmaster’s new offering delivered all the requirements for us, and we are excited to see the improvements brought to life over the coming months. We wanted to future-proof our investment in the infrastructure – the club led the way several years ago with automated access control systems and print-at-home tickets, and we needed to make sure we keep up with technological advancements as much as possible.
Leeann Dempster goes on to add, "Mobile ticketing outside of football has been commonplace at airports and other environments for a period of time already, and football is now catching up across the UK. We know some supporters have been using their mobile devices to scan bar codes, but this is the first time we’ll be able to offer a purpose-designed method for supporters to access the stadium via their mobile phone. New scanners were trialled at matches towards the end of last season with positive results, and we are confident this will improve the entry process. The new online queuing system should also make the process for purchasing tickets for high demand matches better. We can’t control the number of tickets available to us, but the experience of waiting to purchase should be much better than before, saving supporters time and minimising frustration. The improvements will be rolled out gradually over the coming months but we are confident that we will have an enhanced ticketing experience for all our supporters.”
Chris Belt, Business Development Director Ticketmaster Sport added, “We’re delighted Hibernian have chosen to further extend its nineteen year business partnership with Ticketmaster. During the 2019/20 football season, Hibernian FC will be equipped with Ticketmaster’s new fully integrated XR ticketing and access control solution, providing fans with access to the very latest digital ticketing technology. The club will also benefit from Ticketmaster’s unparalleled marketing reach to drive ticket sales and increase fan engagement. We look forward to continuing a very successful partnership and wish the club the very best for the new season ahead.”
